How do I find my serial number?

Finding the serial number of the machine you are purchasing is a required step for this program.

There are several ways to find the serial number of your machine.

  • Most systems will have a label affixed to the bottom of the system.
  • Serial number can also be pulled using these OS specific steps.

Apple Systems

From the Apple menu  in the corner of your screen, choose About This Mac. You'll see an overview of your Mac, including its model name and serial number.


Windows Systems

Open a command prompt or powershell (by right clicking on the start menu icon and choosing the Command Prompt or Powershell and type the following:

wmic bios get serialnumber

How can I check on warranty information for my machine?

I don't live in Utah or I can't make it to your office to drop off my retiring machine, can I still purchase it?

Yes, after submitting the request and receiving approval you can ship your machine directly to TAMS.

I live in Utah and would like to purchase my retiring machine, does that make a difference in the process?

Differences:

  • Utah residents have the option of bringing the retiring machine directly to TAMS instead of shipping, this will save you the cost of shipping the machine directly to TAMS & shorten the process time.
  • Purchases by Utah residents will be subject to Utah state taxes.
If my request gets denied, can I buy a different machine?

Yes, you can shop for a used computer on www.churchpcoutlet.com .

Most requests can be fulfilled within 3-4 business days once the machine is at TAMS

TAMS provides a 30 day warranty. This warranty allows you to return your machine and receive a full refund within the first 30 days after purchase. Within the warranty period we can service your machine for free or exchange it for another machine.

TAMS can perform services and repairs on machines that were purchased through TAMS. It costs $25 to check in the machine for a diagnostic, then the price of parts and labor are additional.

A retiring system is a machine that is 3 years old or older. This means that the machines factory warranty will be ending within three months or less.
