Boxing up Items

You will be asked to either package up and ship the equipment at a UPS or FedEx Kinkos or we will send hands to pack your equipment and pick up with a truck.

Some situations DO require boxing or packaging.

Please box and package when these conditions occur:

2. The items are small enough to ship via UPS, and or
3. The items potentially have significant resale value (laptops, switches, etc.)

How do I fill out my asset disposal form?

First you will need to download the Asset Disposal Form, then follow the steps on the Schedule a Pick Up page by completing each required task.

If you need assistance filling out the form, please call us at 801-796-1696 during business hours.

What items can I send in for electronic surplus and are there items I shouldn’t?

ALL items which MAY hold data (computers, tablets, printers, access points, servers) MUST go to TAMS to ensure equipment is handled correctly and data destruction is certified.

ALL TV’s and monitors must go to TAMS to ensure church assets are disposed of properly, in a safe and environmentally friendly way.

Equipment tied to the church disposed in an unauthorized/unmanaged fashion or donated to an organization who disposes assets improperly are legal liabilities to the Church.

Do not do it!

Do I need to package my equipment?

You may need to do so or bring your items to an UPS Store/FedEx Kinkos to package up.

Typically for 10 items/boxes and under (keyboard, mice, access points are numbered in groups to total 1 BOX), packing items and shipping will be required.

If asked, these items will need to be packaged in a manner which avoids damage during shipment.

Please submit your request and a surplus specialist will contact you with instructions and whether you will be packing up or a team will come, retrieve and pack your items.

If you have large devices under the limit quantity, we will let you know the next step.

Realizing situations vary from location to location, your TAMS customer service rep can help you determine the best method for your situation and will be contacting you with instructions within approximately 24 BUSINESS hours after submission.
I am in the state or coming to Utah; can I bring my surplus in to tams?

YES! However a surplus submission must still be completed, noting your preference of dropping your device/items off in the ADDITIONAL INFO section.

Wait for a TAMS representative to reply with the process to follow. This allows your items to be properly tied off at CHQ.

How long will it take before my items are picked up?

The pick-up time frame varies based on your location. After you submit a request we will contact you and let you know what that time frame is.

Can I purchase my own system?

Please submit a request to purchase your retiring computer at churchpcsurplus.com/epp-home. Approval will be subject to review by your department.

What are your business hours?

We are open Monday through Friday 10am to 6pm, MST.
